Fungolandia: the Mushroom and its world

Every year at the beginning of September Altobrembo becomes FUNGOLANDIA: the land of Mushrooms!

The mushrooms of Val Brembana are not simply food products of the territory, but also ambassadors of the environmental quality and natural beauty of the area. Followed by their flavors, Fungolandia will guide you to discover the culture, history and nature of our mountains.

Nine days (one week including 2 weekends) in Valle Brembana to discover the land of Mushrooms, the terrutory, the culture, the traditions and the typical products of Val Brembana.

Each year, the format provides for the organization of the val Brembana Mushroom Exhibition including many side events aimed to discover the local territory, the culture and the gastronomy. The calendar starts from the enhancement of the gastronomic characteristics of the mushrooms, includes many events for families, nature lovers and local gastronomy.

Main events:

MYCOLOGICAL EXHIBITION
The traditional mycological exhibition is held throughout the entire course of the festival, open all day on the two weekends. There are over 250 species of mushrooms, with the permanent presence of mycologists, able to best illustrate the mushroom and its world.

SPECIAL MUSHROOM MENU 
The local restaurants and bars offer promotional menus and mushroom-based aperitifs, able to enhance the products of the territory during the entire duration of the festival. Every year there are several events that allow you to taste mushrooms combined with local products: aperitifs in historic places, the tasty Street-Mushroom, picnics in nature …

TOURS
The calendar of Fungolandia includes daily tours with mycologists to discover the mushroom and its world , guided visits to the local ARTISTIC heritage, TOURS in the Parco delle Orobie and appointments with farms.

INIZIATIVES AND SHOWS
In addition to tastings of typical products, there will be markets for the enhancement of local crafts, exhibitions and displays to highlight local culture, conferences and appointments with rural and naturalistic experts, numerous events for children, shows and concerts.
